WORK PERMIT

WE WILL HELP YOU OBTAIN A WORK PERMIT

Want to work legally in Poland? Or maybe you employ foreign nationals and need help completing all formalities?

Legalizing a foreign national’s work in Poland is not easy. You need to gather many of the necessary documents, properly fill out the application, and sometimes still meet additional requirements, such as the so-called “labor market test”.

Our experience shows that many self-submitted applications contain errors. This, in turn, leads to the extension of the entire process of legalization of work in Poland, and in extreme cases even failure to obtain the permit from the office. However, if you are assisted by an immigration lawyer, you can be sure that all the requirements will be met and the process of legalization of work will go as quickly as possible.

Our law firm has been helping our clients in matters related to foreign nationals for years. We have led hundreds of cases related to the legalization of employment. As part of our services:

  • we help you collect all the documents needed to obtain a work permit;
  • Our lawyer prepares the application on your behalf, making sure that it meets all the formal requirements and, consequently, that the case proceeds as quickly as possible;
  • we represent you in your dealings with the office;
  • We assist you in the overall legalization of work and residence in Poland – you can also count on our support in matters such as residence permits or the acquisition of real estate in Poland.

ASSISTANCE TO FOREIGN WORKERS

Wondering if you can work without a permit or hold several jobs? You don’t know whether you can change your job based on the permit issued? Are you worried about problems when your terms of employment change? Wondering if, as a student, you can take a job to earn extra income?

These are just a few of the many doubts our clients come to us with. We will provide you with legal advice, present your options and represent you in work permit proceedings.

You can also count on our help when your employer does not comply with the labor law in force in Poland. In such a situation, we will fight for your rights – first during negotiations with the employer and attempts to resolve the dispute amicably, and when this proves impossible – also representing you in court.

SEE THE FREQUENT QUESTIONS ABOUT WORK PERMIT

What is a work permit?

A work permit is a document entitling a foreigner to work in Poland, provided that they stay legally in the country – e.g. a temporary residence permit, a valid visa. The permit is issued at a request of an employer.

How to obtain a work permit?

The work permit is issued upon application by the voivode competent for the employer’s registered office. However, it is not the foreign worker himself who applies for the document, but their employer. They are the one who must prepare the documents and bear the costs associated with the entire procedure. The issued permit always concerns work for a specific employer, and not a general possibility of taking up employment.

Who needs to obtain a work permit?

A work permit is required, among others: in the case of a foreigner who intends to perform work in the territory of Poland for an employer having its registered office, place of residence, branch, plant or other form of organized activity in the territory of the Republic of Poland. However, there are exceptions to the rule – e.g. a foreigner who has refugee status or benefits from temporary protection will not need a work permit.
